What is G23 Titanium?
G23 solid titanium is by far the top choice for body piercings, and can be safely used for initial piercings. Implant grade titanium G23 (Ti-6Al-4V-ELI, Certified ASTM F136) is the material used in surgical implants, is biocompatible (friendly with your body), much lighter than surgical steel, resistant to body fluids and 100% nickel free.
What is Internally Threaded Post?
Internally threaded post has a threaded hole inside the post, and then an external thread protruding from the stud. A smooth post passes through the piercing, and then the stud is inserted and screwed into place.
The Association of Professional Piercers (APP) sets the standards to be followed by professional body piercers, and they make their position very clear in regards to threaded jewelry: Internally threaded jewelry is part of the APP standard for initial piercing jewelry: the part of the jewelry that passes through your skin is smooth, and the threads are on the removable end(s), such as balls, gems, or spikes.
Internally threaded jewelry avoids any possibility of scraping your tissue with sharp threads, which is especially important with fresh piercings.
Q : How on earth do you put this in?? I tried for 30 min to put the gem in the post and gave up. Any tips? I dropped it countless times and never got close to getting it in the post hole.
A :
Please insert the post through your piercing first. Once the post comes out THEN you push in the gem on top of the post.
